WHCO musicians regularly perform at many of the most-loved community events throughout Upper Manhattan, including the Dyckman Farmhouse’s Fall Festival, the Morris-Jumel Mansion’s Women’s History Month Kick-Off, Word Up Community Bookshop’s Uptown Kid-Lit in Inwood Hill Park, P.S. 187’s Spring in the Heights, and many more!
Inspired by the Houston Symphony’s innovative Community-Embedded Musicians, we created “SoundBridges” — our own community-embedded musician program. SoundBridges serves both WHCO musicians and local partner organizations by bringing world-class professional performances directly to our Upper Manhattan community and enhancing events hosted by our partners throughout the area.
While our initial phase of the project will be limited to partnerships between WHCO and local partner organizations, as SoundBridges expands, our community-embedded programming will soon include performances at area senior centers, local schools, hospitals, and more!
